Sometimes...

Sometimes, your heart needs
To simply learn how to trust more
To sometimes break down and cry
Tightly locked behind endless rows
Of uninviting steel doors

Sometimes, your spirit wants to fall away
Sadly disappear, into infinity
And forget the anguished nights
And empty loneliness
That can sometimes fill a day

Sometimes, when the lights go out
And shadows arrive to keep you company
Your heart can sometimes begin to quiet,
Fall to faint whispers, instead of
Remembering how to stand up and shout

Sometimes, without love and constant caring
You can only do so much right
For it has always been a universal truth
A plant can only grow and flourish
When placed in its very best light
