Two By Sea

We took a trip tonight
We had a ticket for two
A ticket to set sail, by sea
Just me, with you

The moon lit our moving path

The weather rocked our ship, a little
The orchestra strummed
There was even a lively fiddle!

I felt your presence so near
I felt peaceful, with you by my side
I still could hardly breathe
It was difficult to decide

Were the butterflies from you,

Or our ocean-filled ride?

At that very moment
The stars seemed to beckon louder
The stars seemed to really know

I needed them to answer

And, in response, I suddenly knew

For they began to twinkle

Brighter and brilliantly true

In his eyes, in his laugh,
His sorrow and beautiful smile
I saw the same beauty that I had seen,
Over and over again, not just once in awhile

All it had taken was a simple boat ride
That's all that was need to push doubt aside

He was still and had always been the love of my life,
For as the fairytales tell and remind the heart

Miles and years can never keep true love apart.
