Drifting Debris

If I fell in-to darkness today
Would it matter to you?

If I disappeared amongst the drifting debris
Would you give it a second thought
Or would you simply find another love
And forget about me?

My heart, it's grown so cold
The passion it once held
Extinguished in ashes
Extinguished so long ago

Where were you when I needed you most?
Where were you when my world echoed
In darkness and waking ghosts?

When fists turned to rage
And, I cried myself to sleep
And I weep and I weep
For the years and years
And the ever elusive peace
I achingly seeked

It's been a week

It's been a lifetime
Far from the strength of your spirit
Far from the comfort
Found within your arms

And gray storms gather clouds
Gather ammunition
Gather dust and sorrow
Behind cloakened shrouds

Take me to another place
Take me to another world
I'm forever lost without you

You are my air, my space
My wind and rain
The sun and mighty seas

Simply, my love, you must know
You are the song that has always played
From my most delicate heart strings.

Beautiful post. Life does have its ups and downs. Hopefully, mostly up. The trick is to find happiness within one's soul, then the rest of the world clicks into place.
